Embrace
I rarely make Intaglio plates for straightforward editions. Most prints end up being cut up or embroidered on. This piece was created from an old print that never materialized into a finished image. I cut strips from two inner circular shapes that were then woven together and folded inward cradling each other into a hand-sized finished form. Both pieces were formed organically, with no final object in mind. The form emerged by weaving the pieces together that seemed most harmonious.
